Our Journey

How We Started

In 2020, during the pandemic, having access to healthy food became more important to us and this pushed us to start our own small family farm. Den and Jean’s Natural farm came into fruition in October 2020. Our goal then is to only provide for our own family but eventually we felt the need to share the abundance of produce to friends through a farm share model or a community of subscribers which we call Community Supported Farm. We started with a few subscribers then it eventually grew. Our goal is not only to provide chemical-free and fresh healthy produce, but more importantly, to let our community experience the depth of flavor, complex taste, variety of colors, texture, and nutrient-dense whole foods.

We  continuously strive to share our passion not just on sustainable agriculture but also on mindful living with others outside our community, so we opened our farm through farm stays. It’s an opportunity for people to come and experience farm life, learn about sustainable farming practices, and reconnect with nature. Through this, we are hoping that others will be inspired to take a more active role in the food they eat and in their way of life.

Sustainable Agriculture

When we take care of nature, it will give us truly nourishing food. We believe that nourishing our bodies goes hand-in-hand with how we take care of the environment. That is why we are dedicated to sustainable farming practices to grow the freshest produce while preserving our land for future generations. We are embracing not just one, but multiple farming principles and we are following intercropping and crop rotation — producing based on seasonality and we give importance to local or plants native to the region.

N

Mindful Living

It is also our role to inspire and help our customers to make conscious choices about the food they eat and how it affects not just their health but also the environment. We are here to promote the art of living mindfully through understanding, appreciating, and celebrating the food grown intentionally as well as by providing a venue to connect with nature. We believe that re-wilding and reconnecting with nature will provide us unimaginable wellness and health benefits for all ages.

N

Food Diversity

Since day 1, our goal is to have more colors in our produce because we believe in food diversity and we believe that this is how our diet should be – diverse, colorful, and intentional. In our farm, we are growing around 40-60 types of varieties of produce (veggies, fruits, and herbs). We work hard to cultivate a wide variety so we can let our community experience not just the freshest but with depth of flavor, complex taste, variety of colors, texture, and nutrient-dense whole foods.

Community Connection

We are dedicated to providing a direct link between our farm and our consumers via our farm share program. Direct connection will help them appreciate the produce and will provide them assistance on how to store, prep and cook the produce. We also promote sustainable livelihoods by supporting our neighbor farmers through education and marketing. We believe that by working together, we can create a sustainable model and future.
